I WANT TO BE MOVED BY YOU
Dance Film Week Bremen
The Steptext Dance Project, in collaboration with the Filmbüro Bremen and the German Dance Film Institute, presents a week of dance films and invites audiences to engage in exchange.
Guest artists include Mouvement Perpétuel from Québec, whose dance films celebrate cultural diversity and honor dedication to dance as a form of resilience. The two dance filmmakers Marlene Millar and Philip Szporer are marking the 25th anniversary of Mouvement Perpétuel—a perfect occasion to celebrate dance, its diversity, and the human resilience strengthened through it via the medium of film. The Canadians have done pioneering work—today, dance film is increasingly establishing itself as an independent art form at festivals and online.
Dance films by filmmakers from Bremen and Northern Germany, opportunities for exchange, as well as dance film and dance workshops, discussion rounds, and performances by Of Curious Nature round out the program.
