For the 15th time, the contemporary dance scene of the Spanish-speaking world takes center stage, this time featuring three choreographers from Spain and Latin America. All three explore the roots and essence of dance: born out of trance in collective ritual, passed down through the “fiestas” of popular culture, disciplined for the stage, reclaimed by the rave scene, appropriated in countless ways—sometimes a showgirl, sometimes a mestiza, yet in its essence still untamable.
