25.09. till 27.09.2025 | Schwankhalle Bremen

Th 25.09. | 19:30 Uhr | Wonderground: Momentum

Life as a constant movement forward. The impossibility of stopping time gives the impulse of life a special quality. However, sometimes this drive for movement unsettles us and becomes a riddle that questions our existence.

What drives us? Where are we heading? Are we moving forward or going back?

In a world full of upheavals, three dancers embark on a quest to find the forces that metaphorically and literally propel us. Through landscapes that oscillate between the real and the imaginary — an inner storm, a body defying gravity, a mountain breaking apart and rebuilding itself — the bodies create a sometimes acrobatic choreography that reflects the cyclical human journey.

Fr 26.09. | 19:30 | Carlos Aller und Cecilia Bartolino: Saudade de Ti / Nothing Happens

Saudade de Ti:

Saudade is a complex and subjective feeling that can be described as a bittersweet longing for a past time, like a lost love. Saudade is the burning desire to return to the past and live the life we once had. "This nostalgia is often associated with old age, but can occur at any stage of life. We want experiences, places, things, people and even ourselves to return to what once was." (Carlos Aller) With Saudade de Ti, the expressive dancers Carlos Aller and Cecilia Bartolino find an expression for this sometimes burning feeling in a mixture of contemporary dance and urban dance with elements of theater and immerse themselves in the longing for what has been lost with the desire to heal."

Nothing Happens:

“Nothing Happens” combines absurdity and irony to expose the conflicts of modern life, which are often concealed by a mask of normality. The actors alternate between fractured identities that hang in endless, surreal loops. Their sometimes exaggerated movements capture the dichotomy of our time, while the voices of an artificial intelligence drift through like echoes from a dream - a dream that deals with themes such as hidden realities, shifting identities, silent wounds and advancing digitalization. Inspired by Schrödinger's Cat and Yuval Noah Harari's Homo Deus, the protagonists wander through the unresolved paradoxes of society.

Sa 27.09. | 19:30 Uhr | Humanhood: Vortex

Vortex (lat. vortex, ‘vortex’), where rhythm unravels, gravity dissolves and energy converges. Vortex is the new dance production by HUMANHOOD. Magnetic, vital and captivating, a powerful choreography unfolds, bringing to life how we humans can activate deep reserves of unexplored resilience within ourselves to adapt, transform and evolve through any apparent chaos.

The 7 dancers of the international ensemble HUMANHOOD

move with precision and virtuosity, immersing the audience in the pulse of dance to dissolve the apparent boundaries between body and energy and channel the cyclical forces that shape our existence: From the swirling galaxies of the cosmos to the unfolding evolution of human consciousness.

Vortex premieres at the Grec Festival in Barcelona in July 2025.

Sa 27.09. | 21:00 Uhr | DJ Fisch: Fusiones Españolas

Driven by the desire to fill a gap that she herself misses in the local party and club scene, the “Artista Multifacética” Johanna Rafalski will be playing the sounds of the Spanish musical landscape as DJ Fisch on September 27. At Fusiones Españolas, you can expect a short journey through various genres such as contemporary flamenco, folktronica, Andalusian rap and traditional Galician music fused with avant-garde electronics.

In recent years, Johanna Rafalski has soaked up everything that mixes tradition and modernity and is now ready to share her first lovingly prepared concentrate “España only!” with Bremen's dance fans.

DJ Fisch dives into musical depths far from the mainstream and, true to the motto “Always on the move”, has fished up tracks for you that will leave no fin unmoved.

So ¡vamos a la Schwankhalle, because bailando, bailando amigues adiós, adiós, no more silencio loco!
