Humanhood:
Vortex

Vortex
Humanhood
Vortex (Latin vortex, ‘whirl’), where rhythm unravels, gravity dissolves, and energy converges. Vortex is the new dance production by HUMANHOOD. Magnetic, vital, and captivating, it unfolds a powerful choreography that makes tangible how humans can activate deep reserves of untapped resilience within themselves to adapt, transform, and continue evolving through every seeming chaos.
The 7 dancers of the international HUMANHOOD ensemble move with precision and virtuosity, immersing the audience in the pulse of the dance, dissolving the apparent boundaries between body and energy, and channeling the cyclical forces that shape our existence: from the swirling galaxies of the cosmos to the unfolding evolution of human consciousness.

Humanhood is a dance company based in Birmingham and Barcelona, creating art with the aim of unlocking human potential for transformation. In their powerful and dynamic choreographies, they distill the connection between physics and mysticism into a fluid movement language. Founded and led by artistic directors Julia Robert (Spain) and Rudi Cole (UK), HUMANHOOD has quickly become a successful internationally touring dance company, known for its extraordinary choreographic language, virtuosic fluidity, and powerful rhythm.
Since 2016, the company has performed at renowned festivals and venues worldwide, including Sadler’s Wells (London), the Venice Biennale, Festival Grec (Barcelona), SIDance (Seoul), CINARD (Montreal), Birmingham Hippodrome, and Mercat de les Flors (Barcelona); they were also commissioned by the BBC for the dance film Infinity. Beyond the stage, Julia and Rudi continue to pursue their mission of bringing the power of movement into people’s lives.
